'Observer' - Last Thursday eve., relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas BISHOP assembled at their residence in Harvey (Albert Co.) to join the celebration of their 50th anniversary of their marriage. Among the gifts worthy of special mention was a gold headed cane made by Mr. Bishop's son, Eliphalet W. BISHOP who resides in Boston. During the eve. a telegram of regret at inability to be present was read from Thomas DEWITT, a grandson of the aged couple, also holds a position of telegraph operator in Montreal. Letters of regret were also received from Mrs. BELYEA of Shediac, Capt. Edward BISHOP and Willard BISHOP. Mr. and Mrs. Bishop have five sons and two daughters living. They have 26 grandchildren now living, four dead, two grandchildren married and one great grandchild. Mr. Bishop who isin 72nd year and has one brother living, was born in the year 1800 and is 87 years old, five brothers and two sisters died at advanced ages. Mrs. Bishop has two sisters living.
