It doesn’t seem like it’s been 30 years since the movie Alien. :-) The original watches have a mnior cult following and command a reasonable price in good condition. I like several of the new ones.

When I first saw these a few weeks ago I was initially put off by the asymmetric design, but they grow on you. There’s a charm about something so blatantly and unashamedly Eighties, rather like those retro Casio digital watches. The colours and chunky pushers are playful and refreshing. As someone who gets irate with multi-thousand dollar Swiss watches that have uselessly sparse markings, I appreciate that Seiko for the most part ensures that all sub-dials are readable and actually useful to the owner. Price is reasonable for an iconic design. This thing should be solar powered.
