Well, at least “more international” since they are already here at the Seiko Boutique in Canada :-) but you know what Seiko means.

Hmm, maybe we’ll even get some of the nicer hand-wind models here now?

Here’s a summary from Kyle at Perpetuelle.com:

SEIKO WATCH CORPORATION is proud to announce that its renowned and respected luxury watch collection, Grand Seiko, is to be released into selected international markets during 2010. Long recognised by collectors, watchmakers and industry observers as one of the great watches in the world, Grand Seiko has, until now, been available only in Japan and a very limited number of retail locations elsewhere but, thanks to increased production capacity, Grand Seiko will be marketed in partnership with carefully selected retail partners in other markets.

    Hi Harry
I just published a blog report on a Grand Seiko Fan event where we were very fortunate to have three staffers from Seiko Epson here to show us what they are doing at Grand Seiko including their Master Collection and Credors. I am once again impressed – if at all possible to another all new level – especially their Spring Drive Master Collection pieces.

I think that Seiko Epson is slowly warming up to the idea that they are going to reach out to some markets overseas with their Grand Seikos. GS watches are now retailing in Bangkok and Singapore in addition to Canada (and soon in US).
I hope the collectors will learn to see the Grand Seikos & other models from Seiko like the way car buyers see Lexus and Toyotas. They are worlds apart and deserve being understood as a special marque.

    Warm regards
    Harry SK Tan

Thanks Harry, great to hear. I think it will still take some time for North American and European buyers to appreciate the difference, hopefully the upscale lines will be more prevalent in Europe especially soon.

    Best regards
    Harry
