Seiko opened a “Seiko Boutique” store in downtown Toronto earlier this year, which for us watch collectors who don’t visit Asia is a great opportunity to see and buy some of the models typically not seen on these shores, up to and including the Ananta and Grand Seiko lines.

According to Seiko, the boutique targets a higher end consumer, and sells Seiko watches (with the odd rare Pulsar model as well) in a range from retails of $500 to $10,000.

You can read more at Seiko’s press release from May.

Or you can look at a more personal review on TimeZone (also linked from Amateur Economist), a brief summary of a few local Toronto Seiko collectors visiting the store and getting permission to show their photos, a few of which I’ll share here…

Yes, they have Seiko Disc Burgers! Yet another reason to make sure I misplace my credit cards before I visit. :-)

Let’s end with another pic from SteveG of that wonderful Limited Edition hand-winding Grand Seiko. Sigh.

    Hello Harry,

A friend pointed out that you linked to the TZ boutique visit report from last August, 2009. Here is an update that includes a recent visit this past January, 2010. Hope you catch up with fellow collectors at the next dinner.

Thanks Joel. Looks like that URL is not working as it should, I think this one works… http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=4922155
