A new Seiko diver – from LÜM-TEC!
As I was catching up on my Google Reader list, an article by Ariel Adams (ablogtoread.com) about the LÜM-TEC Lumzilla caught my eye.
(And before I write further – yes, I agree, despite their watches being reasonable, they could really have done without the heavy-metal umlaut and all capital letters in their brand name, they’re supposed to be a watch company not a cover band for Disturbed.)

Guess what – underneath the skin it’s a Seiko!
The part of the article that caught my eye was as follows:
The Lumzilla uses a Japanese automatic ref. SII NH25A11J movement
If the term “SII” seems familiar, it should – this is Seiko Instruments Incorporated, the modern-day incorporation of Daini Seikosha, and one of two watch manufacturing groups in the Seiko family of companies.
The information I’ve been able to find on the NH25A movement (pending full verification) is that this is the “sold to third parties” numbering designation for the Seiko 7S25A caliber. It’s already been used in some Invicta models also.

The 7S25 is the “date no day” version of the “date and day” 7S26 – yes, the same caliber that powers my Black and Orange Monsters, and the Seiko 5 line of automatics.
So there you go … a Seiko from LUM-TEC!
