Black Monster (Seiko SKX779) – Pulled the Trigger!

I was reading a post on the Seiko & Citizen Forum earlier this week, talking about the great deals available on Amazon for the Orange Monster and Black Monster. Well that got me a bit riled, since it made me remember that Amazon rules don’t allow them to sell/ship watches to Canada, and they were good prices even compared to eBay (OM on bracelet for $147, BM on rubber for $109), which meant I was going to lose out on a good deal.

The Monsters are iconic modern diver’s watches, and really well appreciated, and I have been planning to buy myself a BM in December (on rubber – despite everything I’ve heard and read about how wonderful the Monster bracelet’s are, I decided I just liked the look better). So after reading the above posts I decided to put a few “bargain priced” bids into eBay using AuctionSniper, to see if I could get anything comparable.

$87 (plus shipping) for a new BM – YAY! It’s on it’s way from Singapore (as always when I buy on eBay, from a reliable vendor, in this case pokemonyu, who I’ve bought from before).

Not bad for a watch with an average MSRP of $375 :-)
